Coop has nailed it in this essay about seventies superheres ,the real kind. Maybe the reason most of my friends think that everything sucks now is because everything was so cool when were little. What ever happened to watching can am racing on sunday afternoon on Wide World of Sports . Remember when this meant all kinds of sports not just basketball and football maybe NASCAR . there used to be real racing and ski jumps or that crazy soccer with dirtbikes.

What have I Been Saying? Speed Limits are Stupid

Every time I drive anywhere on the highway I have to make a concentrated effort to not talk about the absudity of the speed limits, My friends and Family would attest to this as I am generally unsucessfull . This video is proof and what a great experiment.

Designers

I have been thinking this for some time now and tody was the last straw. What is the matter with TV designers ,you know the type the pretentious TLC designers . Now , not all of them just the ones that suck . Why cant they just talk normally ? There is nothing worse than these so called artists who think that need to make up words or just misuse them in order to seem artsy or something . One of the worst is when they repaint a table and use it as a desk or just use an old piece of furniture again in a different room and say they the are going to repurpose it . That's not even a real word! Then today this idiot set designer masquerading as an interior designer show a drawing of a cabinet and he says ." These doors open to visualize the shelves " ......... What the fuck is that you open the doors and there are shelves inside ! Yes I am Yelling! Maybe he could say that if you open the doors you can see the shelves but visualize . I wish I had a magic TV transporter so I could go inside the TV and scream at these people to their faces. My dad was an interior decorator for years ( that was before they made up the name interior designer because designing a room sounds so superior to just decorating ) He never repurposed anything . Ok so that's all I have to say about that . Actually I do love those shows maybe I just miss Paige.

Grammar and Punctuation

I recently went back and read some old postings from this blog. I am the king of the run-on sentence. Perhaps I can make the excuse that old jack didnt use much in the way of punctation or maybe I am just a literary rebel. Either way I think I may have to go edit myself .

I have said for some time that the organisized religion (Specifically Christianity) will be the ruin of western society . Look at what is happening to our country now with an openly born again Christian at its helm. Anyway go read the paper ,it is a long one so set aside some time. Ahh, an excellent example of the thing about right wingers that pisses me off .They all seem to think that their way is the only way, their religion is the only religion, and everyone should bend and conform to suit what they want. Some ass emails this blogger who gives away content free, FREE, beacause he has to actually put an effort into getting the FREE stuff.
The effort is too read the opinion (or skip over) the opinion of the guy who gives him the FREE Stuff.
What is the matter with these people.

Helpful Hint for Cell Phone Users

Here is a handy hint to avoid pissing people off or hurting their feelings (Depending on the situation) . NEVER USE THE IGNORE FEATURE . Please axcuse the terrible all caps yealling . Just silence the ringer then the person calling will more likely think you dont have your phone handy or didnt hear it ring. If you hit the ignore button ,sending the caller directly to voicemail they know you looked at he screen saw their name and didnt want to talk to them. That sucks, Be Nice No one want to be snubbed.

Best RSS Experience Yet

If you read RSS feeds you should definately try google's Reader. This is beta but I wouldnt change a thing ,I have tried quite a few and this is the simplist and best i have used so far .It just puts all the new feed items along the side and you just click on them and read . N flders just all feed items frm all the sources you chooose and finding the feeds is as easy as a gogle search with a subscribe button. Google is Super

Jonathan Coulton

After discovering ,as many have ,some thanks to me Jonathan Coulton's most excellent cover of Baby Got Back. I listened to some of his other music and liked it enough to pluck the feed and get a swell new song each week. You should do the same.

Windows Sucks

I am certain this is not breaking news to anyone but Windows sucks. It may be sort of my fault being I was messing with things Microsoft doesn't want you to ,but that doesn't make windows suck any less. I was going to use a different shell (Litestep) just for fun and it didn't work properly . This wouldn't be such a problem except I was working with nothing the shell didn't load at all and being I use WinME (why I do not know) and there is no option to go to command line at boot. I popped in a Knoppix Disk and edited the ini file so explorer would be the shell again but when I started windows up it is all 640x480 and no mouse at all . This is exactly the sort of thing I will never understand .I did nothing to anything that has anything to do with display or mouse . After slow and only sort of successful attempts at backing up my music ,photos etc. I began the search for a solution. Well I fought with this for a while reading numerous forum posts dug around the so called knowledge base and so on. Eventually I just went back to an older registry back up and everything was fine and then I experienced that which can only happen after computer frustration. Geek euphoria . I know, I didn't gain access to some secure database or break some new DRM but the feeling is similar on a lesser scale.
BTW Google is super.
